Take away my car, take away my house, take away almost anything, but don’t take away my time spent listening to classical music.  What an incredible, lifelong source of pleasure!   If you’re reading this, I’m “preaching to the choir.”  But think about this.  What percentage of our country’s population has no idea how moved they might be by classical music listening?  Some say 90%.  Some say more, some less.  Whatever your estimate, it’s probably a very large number.

Our 25-year journey from the performing ensemble, Philharmonic Orchestra of New Jersey, to the educational organization, The Discovery Orchestra, has been a remarkable one driven by one overriding desire: to increase the number of individuals moved to their very depths through classical music listening.   Now - through our public television, internet and social media presence, school classroom and intern training initiatives, along with exciting collaborations, we know we can reach millions of people.
